Slovakia reaches 15th place in Peppol participants

Published October 30, 2026

As of 30 October 2026, Slovakia holds 15th place in the country ranking by Peppol participant count, ahead of Germany in 16th place. Slovakia has 18,864 participants, compared with Germany’s 16,400, giving it a lead of 2,464. Several countries remain above Slovakia in the ranking.

The latest Slovak total includes 1,772 participants added on 30 October. This contributed to the standing recorded on that date, but the change in position reflects a broader trend developing over recent weeks rather than a single-day shift.

The lead is widening in Slovakia’s favour. Thirty days earlier, Slovakia trailed Germany by 11,927 participants, with respective totals of 1,589 and 13,516. The movement from that deficit to the current advantage shows that the two countries swapped places within the last month. Germany’s participant count also rose over the period, reaching 16,400 by 30 October.

Regulatory changes provide context for both markets: Slovakia is introducing mandatory B2B e-invoicing on a decentralised Peppol model, planned for 2027, while Germany is phasing in mandatory B2B e-invoicing through 2028 on a decentralised model, with Peppol widely used for transport.

Participants are distinct Peppol participant identifiers, not a count of companies. Germany in particular registers many organisations under two identifier schemes at once, so its participant total overstates its company count relative to Slovakia. A ranking based on deduplicated organisations can therefore differ.
