Peppol network passes 8,000,000 participants

The Peppol network had passed the 8,000,000 participant mark as of 9 September 2026, reaching a global total of 8,070,814 participants. The threshold represents a round milestone for the network, which uses Peppol participant identifiers to connect participants for electronic document exchange.
The latest total was up from 6,108,541 participants 30 days earlier. That represents an increase of 1,962,273 participants, or 32.1%, over the period. However, the rise was highly concentrated geographically rather than spread broadly across the network.
France accounts for most of the increase
France added 1,921,116 participants during the 30-day period, accounting for 98% of the network's growth. Most of the increase therefore came from that single country, with additions elsewhere representing only a limited share of the overall change.
The French contribution is the defining feature of the latest network figures. While the global participant count moved above 8,000,000, the concentration means the change primarily reflects growth in France rather than a similarly large expansion across multiple countries.
Participants are identifiers
The figures count distinct Peppol participant identifiers, not companies. A participant identifier is the unit measured in the network total, so the number should not be read as a count of individual businesses or organisations.
As of 9 September 2026, the resulting global total stood at 8,070,814 participants. The milestone follows the addition of 1,962,273 participants over 30 days, with France responsible for nearly all of that measured increase.
