Peppol network passes 7,500,000 participant mark

Published September 3, 2026

The Peppol network had 7,617,786 participants as of 3 September 2026, taking the global total past the 7,500,000 milestone.

The network added 1,758,259 participants over the preceding 30 days, an increase of 30% from 5,859,527. The figures show a sharp rise in the overall participant count during the period, but that growth was highly concentrated geographically.

France accounts for most of the increase

France was the leading source of growth, adding 1,723,121 participants. That represented 98% of the network's 30-day increase, meaning most of the rise came from a single country rather than from broadly distributed growth across the Peppol network.

The concentration is central to understanding the milestone. While the global total moved above the round threshold, the figures identify France as the dominant contributor to the expansion recorded during the period. Growth outside France made up only a small part of the overall increase.

Participants are distinct Peppol participant identifiers, so the total should be read as a count of identifiers within the network.

The latest standing establishes 7,617,786 as the network-wide participant count on 3 September 2026. It also places the 7,500,000 milestone within a period in which France overwhelmingly drove the recorded increase, accounting for 98% of all participants added over 30 days.

Network growth over time

Figures are based on the public Peppol Directory and SML/SMP infrastructure. Publication is not mandatory, so a provider or country may have more participants than are publicly listed. Methodology →
