United Arab Emirates reaches 17th place in Peppol participants

Published October 15, 2026

The United Arab Emirates holds 17th place by Peppol participant count as of 15 October 2026, moving ahead of Iceland, which now ranks 18th. Several countries remain higher in the ranking.

The United Arab Emirates has 12,556 participants, compared with 11,513 for Iceland. That puts the United Arab Emirates 1,043 ahead in the current standing. Its count includes 948 participants added on 15 October 2026.

The relative positions have shifted markedly over recent weeks. The United Arab Emirates had 2,982 participants 30 days earlier, while Iceland had 11,463. At that point, the gap from the United Arab Emirates' perspective was -8,481. The change to a lead of 1,043 shows that the margin has moved in its favour, with the two countries swapping places during the period.

Participant counts require context

Participants are distinct Peppol participant identifiers, not a count of companies. Iceland in particular registers many organisations under two identifier schemes at once, meaning its participant total overstates its company count relative to the United Arab Emirates. A ranking based on deduplicated organisations can therefore differ from the participant ranking.

The current figures place the United Arab Emirates one position above Iceland while retaining a relatively narrow numerical gap between them. The ranking reflects participant identifiers recorded as of 15 October 2026 and establishes the United Arab Emirates' standing at 17th place, rather than indicating an overall lead across the Peppol network.

Participants over time

Figures are based on the public Peppol Directory and SML/SMP infrastructure. Publication is not mandatory, so a provider or country may have more participants than are publicly listed. Methodology →
