United Arab Emirates holds 19th place in Peppol participants

Published October 1, 2026

As of 1 October 2026, the United Arab Emirates holds 19th place by Peppol participant count, ahead of Spain in 20th place. The United Arab Emirates has 7,361 participants, compared with 6,631 for Spain, giving it a lead of 730. Several countries remain higher in the ranking.

The standing reflects a marked shift over recent weeks. The United Arab Emirates had 1,849 participants 30 days earlier, when Spain had 6,536. At that point, the gap was -4,687 from the United Arab Emirates' perspective. The subsequent reversal means the countries have exchanged positions within the past month, with the recent trend moving from a Spanish lead to a widening advantage for the United Arab Emirates.

The United Arab Emirates recorded 460 additions on 1 October 2026, contributing to its current total. Spain's count also rose over the 30-day period, but its increase was smaller than the change recorded by the United Arab Emirates.

Spain is introducing mandatory B2B e-invoicing on its own model, using the Facturae format and a public platform, rather than primarily Peppol. This regulatory approach provides context for its position in the Peppol participant ranking.

Participants are distinct Peppol participant identifiers, not companies. Spain in particular registers many organisations under two identifier schemes at once, so its participant count overstates its company count relative to the United Arab Emirates. A ranking based on deduplicated organisations can therefore differ.

Participants over time

Figures are based on the public Peppol Directory and SML/SMP infrastructure. Publication is not mandatory, so a provider or country may have more participants than are publicly listed. Methodology →
