Peppol network passes 6,500,000 participants

Published August 25, 2026

The Peppol network passed the 6,500,000 participant mark, reaching 6,509,629 participants as of 25 August 2026. The total covers distinct Peppol participant identifiers registered across the global network.

The milestone followed a substantial increase during the preceding 30-day period. The network had 5,505,000 participants 30 days earlier, meaning the total rose by 1,004,629, or 18.2%, over that period.

Most of the increase came from France. The country added 974,541 participants and accounted for 97% of the network's 30-day growth. The figures therefore show that the recent expansion was highly concentrated in a single country, rather than reflecting a broadly distributed increase across the network.

The French contribution also explains why the network moved beyond the round 6,500,000 threshold during the period. While the global total records all participants in the Peppol network, the geographic source of the growth was overwhelmingly France.

Participants are distinct Peppol participant identifiers, not companies. A participant identifier is the metric used for the network total, so the 6,509,629 figure should not be interpreted as an equivalent count of businesses or legal entities.

Network growth over time

Figures are based on the public Peppol Directory and SML/SMP infrastructure. Publication is not mandatory, so a provider or country may have more participants than are publicly listed. Methodology →
